Open source, down to the last runner.
Vectis is released under the MIT License. The app, the service, the CLI, the cloud functions and this website all live in one repository.
Build it yourself.
You need an Apple Silicon Mac with Node.js 24 and pnpm. Building the signed app bundles also needs Xcode 26 for the icon.

Other components.
The Mac app includes Electron and Node.js. Experimental Windows guests run on a QEMU build you install yourself; its build notes include a small TPM patch released under the GPL. The software TPM and firmware keep their own licenses and are not bundled.
Vectis ships no guest operating system. macOS and Ubuntu are downloaded from their publishers, and Windows installs from media and a license you provide.

Bug reports and pull requests are welcome on GitHub. For anything larger than a fix, open an issue first so we can agree on the approach. Security issues go through a private advisory, as described on the security page.
